Tuesday Sept 12

With the 5th anniversary of 9/11 behind us, Take some time to reflect on that horrible day. Never forget! On a more positive note, Haha well not really for me, Lol I lost my first game - I knew Portis was gonna start but I switched in Addai at the last minute. Go Go second guesser. Its only one game if you are looking to pick up a defense like me. Cincey should be open in most leagues I think thats who I am going to go with and drop KC.

Friday Sept 8

New reports from the "DOCTOR" are in check for updates under the FF Outlook tab. I am looking into incorporating RSS feeds into this site give me some time to figure the stuff out.

TAKE YOUR FANTASY FOOTBALL RITALIN (week 1)

My god are Fantasy Football players fickle!

Week 1 hasn’t concluded yet, but I’ll make some predictions. AT least 3 players that weren’t drafted in most leagues will have significant games. Charlie Batch qualifies for week 1. (Thank you bad refs and uninspired red flag thrower Nick Saban for the Heath Miller touchdown worth 28 points in one of my leagues!)

Remember Frisman Jackson from Cleveland last year? In most cases do some math before making a huge roster change.

In general these are flukes, one week wonders if you will. Consider the defense they played against, and the situation. Was it one long play that padded the stats, was it garbage time with the game out of hand?

Thursday Sept 7

I updated the injury reports for week 1 - Culpepper did not look all that hot in week 1 against the Steelers but then again they dont call them the steel curtain for nothing. The defending champs did what they had to do to survive week 1 without "Big Ben" - Who doesnt look all that big atm... Anyways good luck in your Fantasy Leagues (FFL) - May the Fantasy Gods shine down on you, Lord knows I will need it, I hate those stupid automated drafters. I swear I moved Clinton Portis way down my list and I got stuck drafting him. Oh well its a free online league.

Sunday - Sept 3

I added a Free forums section to the site - Its under the Ask Big D tab on the left, Also Big D started his blog stay tuned for more tips from the Fantasy expert Dwayne.  Use the forums while they are still FREE! Also added Injury reports and scouting reports sections these are not live yet.

A lot of the fun I have had with Fantasy Football comes from being able to cheer for a second home team... That is right when your home team is sucking you got a back up team to cheer on. Not only that its fun to WIN right? Well everyone loves throwing some trash talking at their friends when we win the Fantasy Football trophy. Don't we?

Trash talking aside, The little things you do to prepare your self can make all the difference if your fantasy team is going to boom or bust.

Aug 28 06 This Week in Fantasy Football Sleepers

Good Values later in the draft

RB's - Running Back

Ahman Green - GB
Week 1 stats car - 20 yds 110 recp 3 - yd 22 no td or fum tot yds 132

The "Deuce"  - Saints
Week 1 stats  car - 22 yds - 90 1 fumble
If Bush doesn't pan out into a fantasy Stud look for this guy in the mid rounds

WR's - Wide Receiver

Donte' Stallworth - Eagles
Week 1 stats recp - 6 yds 141 1 td
This could be a good pick-up if McNabb comes into his own

Mark Clayton - Ravens
Week 1 stats - Ok this guy only had a net of 10 yds but McNair only had 181 yds unless there are better receivers open in you league I wouldnt give up yet on Clayton.
Mason is the clear number one on this team but you may be able to pick this guy up for a value pick in the mid rounds.

Bryant, Antonio - 49'ers
Week 1 Stats rec - 4 yds 114 no tds or fum
Coming of a 1000 yd season with the Browns this is a clear steal IMHO in any late round.

QB's - Quarterback

Rivers, Philip - Chargers
week 1 stats  8/11 -  108 yds 1td

Griese, Brian - Da Bears
Week 1 stats - This guy might not play at all this year but our league allowed 3 QBs so putting stock in this guy was the idea. But if your FFL only allows 2 Quarterbacks you may be shopping for a new QB.
Gonna pull a Homer here D'OH! really though if you look at Grossman's durability over the last few seasons this is a no brainer!!

MORE RULES
Memorize the rules before the season starts and get a leg up, or refer back to it during the season in times of uncertainty.
  1. Never name your team after your girlfriend or cat
  2. Listen to the experts
  3. Don't listen to the experts
  4. No complaining after a win
  5. Avoid 'friendly' advice
  6. It's your duty to talk trash. Period.
  7. Making stupid trades to help another team steal the title from the perennial champ is lame
  8. Being a Fantasy coach does not give you the right to slap people on the butt
  9. Don't draft a player that's already been drafted
  10. Set your line-up on Tuesday morning. Fine-tune it every hour of every day afterwards
  11. It's never over until it's Tuesday
  12. Last-minute changes to your lineup will always backfire
  13. Know how to pronounce your draft pick
  14. Teams who forgot their QB had a bye week should be mocked
  15. Auto-ranking players by jersey number isn't recommended
  16. Teams starting an injured player should be scorned
  17. Doubtful means he's not playing. Game time decision means #%$@&!
  18. Keeping a kicker in a keeper league is open to ridicule
  19. Losing 120-119 is NOT a moral victory
  20. Sorry, you can't draft the video game version of yourself (even if he has a 99 rating in everything)
  21. Running back-by-committee is a plot to undermine fantasy players
  22. Running up the score is expected…especially against family
  23. Recreating your alma mater's Bowl lineup from five years ago doesn't work
  24. Don't trade for a player because your girlfriend thinks he has 'cool hair'

I thought this was pretty funny - Thanks to NFL.com
